The Organization: Building the Digital Infrastructure for International Mobility

This well-funded mobility tech scale-up is digitizing a traditionally fragmented international mobility infrastructure. Through a scalable, API-driven platform, they introduce structure, transparency, and reliability into a time-critical environment. They operate at the intersection of real-time orchestration, international scalability, and data-driven optimization, building a digital infrastructure layer for global mobility.

With an experienced management team skilled in scaling technology companies, the organization has rapidly secured a strong international market position and is now active in the majority of countries worldwide.

The next phase focuses on further international scaling, with the ambition to grow the platform by a 5x+ increase in user volume. At the same time, the AI-first approach is being deepened, integrating AI structurally into both the product and the engineering workflow. AI is not treated as an additional feature, but as a core structural asset of the organization.

The Role: Senior Java software engineer Amsterdam

As a Senior Java software engineer, you join at a defining moment. The foundation is solid, and the architecture is modern. The next growth phase requires technical sharpness and direction from engineering. Within this role, there is space to contribute to decisions that balance speed and long-term sustainability. Not every challenge arrives fully defined. Some are deeply technical; others relate to structure, domain modeling, or product decisions.

You will have the opportunity to work not only on individual services, but across the full breadth of the platform. Performance, scalability, operational impact, and team velocity are key considerations in daily work. This is a role where your impact extends beyond implementation. By simplifying complexity, clarifying standards, and making pragmatic decisions, you contribute to raising the overall engineering level.

AI will become an integral part of both the platform and the way teams operate. The challenge lies in applying AI in a way that delivers structural acceleration and tangible product value.

What Is Required?

  • Completed technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Java (preferably Java 21+)
  • Experience with Spring Boot
  • Experience with microservices architectures
  • Experience with Kafka or comparable messaging systems is a plus
  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with CI/CD and test automation is a plus
  • Experience in designing software architecture
  • Experience coaching or technically mentoring engineers is a plus
